2025 Walkathon

For our Wonkathon this year, we're using www.pledgestar.com which makes it much easier for you to request pledges from your family and friends, and for them to make secure credit card donations online. Call 1-888-598-7510 if you need help. Using your computer or phone's browser:

• Go to http://pledgestar.com/sequoia
• Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
• Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
• Follow the instructions on-screen to register Walker(s) and add family and friends

When you finish, the system will email pledge requests to your family and friends to allow them to make secure credit card donations online or send in checks. You will get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online.

Pledge Collection Prizes

Each class that reaches their goal in laps pledged will receive an extra recess at their teacher’s discretion and a special treat. Laps are capped per grade per class as follows:

250 4th - 6th Grade 

Students whose pledge money has been collected via PledgeStar by Friday, May 2rd will be eligible for the following prizes:

$500  Pizza Party w/Mr. Jackson & $25 Target Gift card

$750  Pizza Party w/Mr. Jackson & $50 Target Gift Card 

$1000 Pizza Party w/Mr. Jackson & $75 Target Gift Card 

Grade Level Prizes

Mr. Jackson will personally award a special treat to the class in each grade with the highest amount of collected pledges.

The students at Sequoia Elementary benefit the most from our fundraising efforts. We are able to provide unique learning experiences for them from field trips to local attractions, interactive learning during assemblies and technology in the classrooms. 

 We happily accept donations from families, extended family members, and local businesses who have strong ties to Sequoia Elementary. Donate to the auction by April 11th!

Whether it’s helping with setup, cheering on walkers, or assisting with cleanup, your support makes all the difference. Let’s come together to create an unforgettable day for our community! Following are a few of the things you’ll want to remember for the day of the Walk-a-Thon.

Walk-a-Thon T-shirts 

All T-shirts will be sent home with the students on Thursday, April 24th. Please make sure your child wears their shirt to school on Friday, April 25! If the T-shirt doesn’t fit your child, you may exchange it. There will be a table set up in front of the school on the morning of the Walk-a-Thon.

Pre-Paid Booth Tickets 

Booth tickets will be sent home on Thursday, April 24th. Please make sure to send your kids with their pre-paid tickets on Walk-a-Thon day so they can enjoy the many booths and snacks!

Comfy Shoes 

Make sure your kids wear good shoes for walking.

Water Bottle

Be sure your child has a water bottle. There will be a bottle filling station provided to ensure the walkers stay hydrated.

Sweatshirt 

It can get chilly once the sun goes down, so you may consider sending a sweatshirt.

Sunscreen

Make sure your child wears sunscreen. Send extra if you think they’ll need to re-apply during the day.

Safety First 

Remind your child that this is NOT a race. This is a fun event, not a track meet! 

Things You Might Want to Bring

2. Lawn chairs - Relax and cheer on your walker. 

3. Healthy appetite - great snacks and food will be available at Sequoia Snack Bar and our outside food vendors!

4. Money – great food and auction items! Cash, check, and credit cards accepted for auction purchases (Visa and MasterCard)

5. Bring your friends and family to this great family and community event!

After Walkathon

1. All students please pick up at least 1 piece of trash! Let’s keep our campus BEAUTIFUL! 

2. All Laps are calculated electronically, you do not need to turn in your wristband. 

3. Don’t forget to grab your belongings, including water bottles in class wagons.
